On the Origin of the Solar System
Hannes Alfvén
The theory of the origin of the solar system which is presented here consists essentially of two parts which to a certain extent are independent. The first part, developed in Chapters I-IV, is a general theory of the formation and gives as a result the mass distribution in the solar system; the second part, contained in Chapters V-IX, deals with some details of the structure. Chapters X and XI discuss some general aspects and are more directly related to the first part. Finally, Chapter XII gives a summary of the results.
